This is an important point:

(There’s a huge and frustrating confusion here, because capitalist ideology took over Darwin’s theory before he published it!)"
The latter bit, - 'survival of the fittest' has been co-opted by neo-liberalism to to promote the individualist capitalism we suffer from, whereas it was meant to be a species wide trait.
